International Charity Day 2024

In recognition of International Charity Day on September 5th, we have some information on discounts that could be available to you for your next charity fundraising event. We are shining the spotlight on charities this year, as we appreciate that charity organisations recognise the power of people helping within their community.

We had the pleasure of visiting the offices of the official charity of PPL PRS for 2024, Leicester-based, Pedestrian, and met with Hema Badger Mistry, Director and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead of the organisation.

‘Pedestrian is an arts and education organisation that provides education, outreach and training to children and young people (up to the age of 25) at risk, whom are often socially excluded, in challenging circumstances and experiencing disadvantages.

Since 1998, we have been providing free, creative opportunities for some of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable children and young people across the city and county.’ – Hema Badger-Mistry

Hema kindly gave us a tour of the space they have and spoke about some exciting things they have planned over the next few months.

‘Our Alternative Education Provision for young people not in mainstream education continues to grow as we enter our 16th year of delivery, it is renowned as being one of the best in the city and we are known for our mentoring approach which helps young people re-engage into education and the wider community. With the support of PPL PRS as our SoundLab sponsor, we are looking forward to supporting more young people to gain more knowledge about the music industry and licensing.’ – Hema Badger-Mistry

PPL PRS are delighted to continue to work with Pedestrian to create a great network of support to help maximise its impact. During 2023 PPL PRS also supported the charity as part of their 25th anniversary celebrations. PPL PRS employees have also volunteered at the charity, supporting their day-to-day work, as well as other larger projects.
